i am looking for a very good pair of new running shoes. i haven't been able to find one i like...i want one that has awesome cusioning and great arch support and just feels good all around. i'd also like one that will last me a little while. i'd love to hear your past (or current) favorite running shoe and why. Really exceptional pair of running shoes?
Try to find Asics 2100s. They have a newer model out, the 2200s I think but, the 2100s are better. See if you can find those somewhere. They are good because they have a good arch support, the mid-foot hugs, and there is room in the toe box. This is a mid-stability shoe designed for mild overpronators, which most people are. This is the best shoe on the market for high arches. I've had this shoe a few times. Currently I'm using the Adidas Supernova classic. It is a neutral shoe without much arch support, but I love the way it hugs my foot. Good luck.

My younger cousin ate a small piece form a toy and now has a flesh eating disease! Will she die?
Last week, my little cousin ate a shoe from a barbie doll, and she now has a flesheating disease. The hospital say it's from the shoe, but they're not totally sure. I'm afraid for her life. What's going to happen?

Reply:It's doubtful she got the disease from eating a toy. Flesh-eating disease usually manifests after a small cut in the skin goes untreated.
I hope your cousin pulls through. The hospital should treat this disease aggressively before it gets any worse.

The best running shoes?
im gonna run a mile a day, 5 times a week from now or starting when i get shoes, until may..from may, i dont know how, but im gonna start training for the november marathon.
my question is, what type of shoes should i get...should i just get shoes to last me may (and i'll only wear them for running ofcourse) the buy new ones for marathon prep, or should i just get REALLLLLY good ones NOW and keep them till november.
also, for someone who runs a mile a day..how do i most safely yet effectively practice for the marathon?
as you see im a bit clueless-so, the more details, the better ;)

Go to a runner's shop and try a variety of shoe brands. Everyone's feet are different; width, arch height etc. and what works well for one may not for another. I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point - a mile per day won't put too much stress on your feet/ankles and probably many of the standard sports type will be fine. Congrats on starting a new program.
Reply:I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren't necssarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable.

Try SportsAuthority, or Dick's and see what you can get. Ask someone who works there to assist you. A lot of times they will have good deals going on. I personally like Nike's running shoes. I spent around $65 and have been using them almost one year and they are still in great shape. Also, make sure to stretch before and after each jog to ensure that you don't pull anything - and drink lots of water! Start off at your own pace - don't ever push it. That's when you get hurt. Take your time, and eventually you will be able to jog a mile with no sweat! Good luck for November! You Rock! :) Take Care!
