What was your last guilty purchase?

Meaning, what did you last purchase that you really wanted, but couldn't really afford/didn't need/any other reason that made you feel guilty? Me? I just spent a lot of money on shoes. The guilt!

What was your last guilty purchase?
My boyfriend and I stopped at a Gap Outlet store on the way home from a trip to see the sales and we both bought too much. We just didn't need it and since we're in graduate school, we should've saved. Having said that, we got GREAT deals on jeans and other staple items.
Reply:which shoes are causing you the guilt??

manolos or choos????
Reply:Coach purse that I so don't need (too many purses already) but I loved, loved, loved.
Reply:I bought a really nice pair of nikes 2 sizes to big thinking i would grow into them...1 year later, they still don't fit. :(
Reply:a shirt that i wasnt supposed to get... =) oops
Reply:coach shoes. lol.
Reply:I don't really have a guilty purchase but I am thinking of treating my self to something nice that isn't really really expensive. About 20-30 dollars.

What shoes for the winter?

so i'm pretty much done with wearing sneakers (nike dunks, chuck taylors) everyday like i used to (last year). i need winter shoes for school (senior in HS). and since winter is coming soon, i need some help... i have no idea what shoes are appropriate for the cold and that is fashionable.

i'll still probably wear flats a few times a month and uggs too (those are SO warm) but i still need something else to choose from.

i can wear uggs and flats only so many times and even then (when i wear flats) my feet will be freezing. i am considering booties but does anyone else have any ideas? what shoes do you wear in the winter?

What shoes for the winter?
you can wear boots. theyre not uggs and they have no heels. maybe something like this or similiar?

Reply:Flowery wellies... ffs!
Reply:One of my friends has a pair of boots that is completely covered in fur. she says they are very warm. That same friend has a pair of leather boots that go just a little above her ankles that are really warm.

Hope this helps!

(I know what your thinking...but i'm not gay!!!)
Reply:uggs, even if they are expensive, you can get knock off ones in pink or tan! or you can get cute furry boots related to uggfs at payless for a great price. They are really warm, and the keep ur feet and calves warm, and they are really cute!
Reply:Uggs- I ♥ my uggs!

I need to find alcohol rehabs in Netcong, New Jersey. How?

My sister, who has always been such a goody-two-shoes, is now an alcohol addict. I hate seeing her this way. She isn't like herself. I already talked to her for quite a number of times about this, but it was only last night that she took my words to heart and believed that she has to get herself treated. I would like to find the right alcohol rehab for her.

I need to find alcohol rehabs in Netcong, New Jersey. How?
Aww, I'm really sorry about your sister. It's good, though, that you have already convinced her to get herself treated for her alcohol addiction. It's always tough to deal with something like that. Your support and encouragement will really matter and it will also help her get through this whole ordeal. To find the right alcohol rehab for her, you may use the links below. Ask about the rehab's treatment program before deciding about which to choose. You can also bring her to a doctor. The doctor will surely know what kind of treatment program will work best for her as well as which rehabs have that kind of program. Good luck! :)
Reply:I put a few in my source for you to look at. Right there in Netcong too.

Have you ever been so sick that even your hair hurt? So sick that would just rather die?

I've had Flu/Strep throat for the last 3 days, lost 9 pounds ran 103 fever for 3 days, had an IV had 3 shots that felt like lava was in them, and I can't say that I feel much better today. Who else has been in my shoes?

Have you ever been so sick that even your hair hurt? So sick that would just rather die?
i prephere u to go to the hospital or the E.R. imediately
Reply:Of course. That's why it is so important to get a flu shot if you have or live with someone who is diabetic or has some other chronic health condition. Imagine trying to stabilize your blood sugar when you can't eat. The flu can kill them.
Reply:Hun, I think everyone has been there at some point! If your not better again in a few days, as much as you may not want to, I think you should go to your doctor/ER. It could be a symptom of something MUCH worse.

Best of Luck!
Reply:Not sick but hung over....on my 21st birthday I had um...a ton of shots (not going to say on here because i'll probably be yelled at and believe me i've learned my lesson, and besides i'm 31 now and hardly drink, lol) and I was hung over for 3 days...yep count 'em...3 days. Was hanging my head over the toilet for all those 3 days...was not a pretty site, and I DO NOT recommend it! (my friends I was with still make fun of me...thank goodness it was in my own apartment and not at a club lol)

Have you ever been to a Museum, Art Gallery,Craft show, and saw something that left a Memory?

A lasting impression on you?

I once saw a sculpture made in the shape of wings formed from over 3,000 women's old shoes. Little girl belts out, LOOK MOM, those are the shoes Aunt Beth made you throw away. Think of the girl and all the shoes women walk in.

What is a memory you have?

Have you ever been to a Museum, Art Gallery,Craft show, and saw something that left a Memory?
See link below. Saw PIcasso's Fernande with a Black Mantilla at the Guggenheim in Vegas - I sat looking at her for about half an hour %26amp; she looked right back at me.

Also a fan of Titian - see second link for Suicide of Lucretia. Also saw this in Vegas. Now I understand why they put benches %26amp; chairs in art galleries %26amp; museums.

And to round this off, I also saw this (third link) Chagall in Vegas too - cool :-)
Reply:I go to museums often and frequently see things that make a lasting impression. One of my favorites was an exhibit of the Hechinger "Tools as Art" collection, which I saw at the Building Museum in Washington, DC. On piece was a wall of Vise-Grip pliers welded together to look like a school of fish. It was amazing!
Reply:I went to the PostSecret exhibit in Georgetown (wash, dc) a few months back - thousands of home made post cards with secrets...Some were amusing but most seemed so painful. One in particular said something like 'I was 7 the first time I was raped'. It made me think of my niece and nephew, my friends small children and I ached inside for the pain people carry.

Anyone buy the Gilbert Arenas package where you have to wake up early?

it was on saturday apr.21, and you had to wake up at 6pm and logon www.gilsarena.com and first come first serve on the 25 dollars jersey and shoe promo. i was wondering if anyone else bought the package, and have they received it yet. it's been 9 weeks and i haven't received it yet, and the contacts i emailed last week haven't answered.

Anyone buy the Gilbert Arenas package where you have to wake up early?
Here is what the website say:

"Some Details on the Jersey Giveaway

Here is a commercial I wrote, just read it:

Let the countdown begin, all you Agent Zero fans. Log on to GilsArena.com for rules and details on this one-time deal.

Saturday, April 21, 2007 it begins and 6 a.m. ET and 3 a.m. PT. There is a limited offer for the first 2,000 Agent Zero fans to log on, register and purchase the Agent Zero Collector’s Package.

It includes one Gil Zero signature shoe and one personalized autographed jersey all for a $25 donation to the Zer0 2 Her0 foundation, shipping fees not included.

All fans who can’t get up that early, or most likely this is for people who are going to sit there and put it back up on eBay, they can get the Agent Zero Late Bird Package which includes the same things, but not personalized, for the donation of $150 to the Zer0 2 Her0 foundation, shipping fees not included.

Also be on the lookout for further auction items from Agent Zero’s private collection at GilsArena.com. "

Ladies what would you do if when you went to a clothing store...?

another girl customer took the last dress or shoes or w/e that you wanted right before you grabbed it and then she laughed and said "sorry loser." What would you do to her?

Ladies what would you do if when you went to a clothing store...?
i wouldn;t say anything wouldn't have the chance the bitches face would be on the rug as i'm stepping on her to get to the register depending on my mood i'd make her pay for it.aren't i sweet lol
Reply:I would let her have it...i don't wear dresses!
Reply:I'd slap her, give her the finger, then knock her out, and take whatever she had that I want.

Just kidding.

I'd probably glare at her and just walk away looking for something better.
Reply:"**** you"

trip her then steal them!

only because of the "sorry loser" though!

then I would find something even better!
Reply:Trip her as she was running off, then make it a huge point to step over her. As I was stepping over her, I'd say "Jesus, this is like trying to step over a lake."
Reply:I'd smile and say "that's ok it would have to be taken in for me anyhow. But it looks like it will fit fit you" and walk the other way.
Reply:Something like this happened to my friend when we were shopping, she had a dress on hold only the stupid assistant didn't put it away so I found it in some other womans hands and I explained it was supposed to be on hold for my friend and we ended up arguing over it but she gave up in the end and handed back to my friend ha ha!
Reply:give her a one-over and say "i think you need a bigger size"

or, the ever popular, "**** you". If shes going to the changing room to try on the item, discreetly stalk her and if she puts them back, zero in on them!!!

hope this helps

:)
Reply:its gonna look like fcking shiiiiiiit on you anyways :P dont worry about it sweetie :)
Reply:pssh i would grab it from her and be like ****** i know u weren't talkin to me!
Reply:tell her she'd look like a fat *** in it anyways, she can keep it. LMAO...clothes is SO NOT worth fighting over..but you could slap her just to show her your pissed. that'd be effing hilarious!
Reply:i would grab them from her and be like sorry i had these first LOSER IN YO FACE!!!!!!!!!!! then step on her foot lol
Reply:say something like it would look better on her really since the trashy, bargain basement look doesn't really suit me
Reply:say to her "***** you" and find something better. who cares? its just clothes.

Why do pregnant women swell up the last month of pregnancy?

Obviously, we are swollen throughout our pregnancies, but my feet and hands are especially swollen this week at 34 weeks and I remember someone saying to me a while back, "Just wait until your last month! You swell up a lot!" Do you know why? My feet look like Fred Flintstones right now! I cannot get my engagement ring off. I hope they don't have to cut it off! It doesn't bother me. but none of my shoes are fitting properly at all! WHY????????

Why do pregnant women swell up the last month of pregnancy?
Okay, well basically fluid is always being pushed out of our capillaries into the intra cellular spaces (tissue.) Usually the lymph vessels pick up this excess fluid and transport it through the network of the lymphatic system and out of the body. When you are pregnant, there is higher osmotic (water) pressure in the blood vessels, in other words, there is a higher pressure pushing fluid and other nutrients through the placenta walls (to get to the baby) but this pressure is in the other blood vessels too. So it pushes more fluid into the tissue and the lymphatic system can't keep up. As for why it is worse in the extremities, the lymph vessels have to work against gravity. Lymph is very slow moving as it relies on the movement of your body, especially your muscles as you walk, or move at all.

Another reason is the levels of ADH (anti-diuretic hormone) could be high also. Well, you know what diuretics do, they make you wee. So the opposite means not as much fluid gets brought to the kidneys. So there you have it!

Get your blood pressure checked often in case you start getting pre-eclamptic, but otherwise, just ride it out baby! God knows, you'll be wanting to push the baby back in, in a few months when you are sleep deprived! I know I did.
Reply:Because the baby is picking up body weight so the pressure is building up
Reply:My doctor told me that the last month is when the fluid in you body are more tense. you are about ready to have the baby and you need them . this is in my term not my doctors. HAHAH
Reply:www.babycenter.com

Call OB GYN and speak to a professional nurse
Reply:Extra fluids. I couldn't wear my wedding bands for the last 2 months. That and you are carrying around the baby which puts extra pressure on your limbs and feet causing some swelling.
Reply:I would be careful of this. Some swelling is normal but if you have high blood pressure or excess weight gain in a short period of time then you may have preclampsia. I had this during my pregnancy and had to go on bedrest at 33 weeks. Explain your concern to the doctor and he/she will inform you of signs to look for.
Reply:are you sure your pregnant and didnt just swallow some watermelon seeds?
Reply:go and get it checked soon as - you could have pre- eclampsia ( overly high blood pressure) and need it dealing with coz it could be dangerous. You could also have water retention.
Reply:umm well i am in my last month to oct 8. yea i got really swollen to but i really wanna know too.. i have to idea why sorry.. maybe if u find out you could tell me.. anyhoo

good luck with ur birth
Reply:preeclampsia is a concern, I swelled so much my shoes didint fit and my feet hurt to walk and I didint have preeclampsia. It depends on what youeat too, I retain if I eat too much salt.
Reply:Swelling comes from a build up of water and other fluids that your body goes into overdrive to produce for the nourishment of the baby. It also has to do with you eating habits...salts, caffefine and things of that nature should be low on your list of diet choices.

If military might is right in Iraq why are military leaders retreating and calling for a political solution?

six more U.S. troops over the weekend killed in Baghdad.

this is during the surge.

the surge is not working.

the truth is coming to fruition and that is - Iraq belongs to the Iraqis, with or without the US troops there, the solution to the problems will come from the Iraqis. They do not want us there. Why keep wasting US lives to hold back a levee that is so much like the one that Hurricaine Katrina destroyed?

The levee in Iraq is breaking people, time to EVACUATE?

Don't let Condie shop in Beverly Hills for shoes again and watch this levee break, just as unconcerned and above it all as the last time.

US citizens need to protect the troops from the US Governement at this point.

Save your neighbor, Protest this War.

call your Senators and Congress persons

Go to anti-war rallies to show you care.

Fight for freedom at home so those who fought can come home to a free country governed by WE THE PEOPLE not the monarch Bush and his minions of death.

If military might is right in Iraq why are military leaders retreating and calling for a political solution?
Yep.... I agree with you. Imperialism with all it's shades are wrong. The smell of oil was just too overwhelming for Bushco. Now they will retreat with their tail between their legs whilst over 3000 US servicemen have been killed and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed and maimed.

Bush and Blair should face International Courts of Justices for war crimes.
Reply:"There is no better way to support those who are fighting in Iraq than to guarantee that no more of them die in the service of political miscalculation"

Source(s):

Anna Quindlen, Newsweek 2/19/07
Reply:The soldiers job is to protect the iraqis. They ought to start behaving like real soldiers instead of cowards looking out for their own hides. The number of dead soldiers is immaterial. The number of dead iraqis however bothers me.

Can someone answer my questions I have about this?

Okay so this is a extension to one of my other questions. I'm 5ft 9in and 14 yrs old i finally decided that I will start walking or jogging at least 20-30 mins everyday. ppl in my last question told me to get good shoes which I have they told me this would be good exercise to tone my legs without adding bulk or a ton of muscle. But they also told me to much walking would give me a huge bulging calf muscle that looks really gross! Is this true or are they lying? Also, how should i walk or jog? Should i go long distance or short distance should I take short strides or long strides? these are 3 questions i would like answered b4 i start my program please if you have any innfo please answer!!!! thank you all god bless!!!

Can someone answer my questions I have about this?
I don't think your calf muscles will look bulging and gross, in fact you'll end up developing muscle definition and runners have great legs!

Depending on what your walking or jogging goal is ( weight loss or training for an event) start slow and work your way up. For example if weight loss is your goal walk/or jog 20 min 3-5x a week and every week add an extra 5 min, until you reach your goal ( 60 min or 3-4 miles). Once you reach your goal change it up a bit by adding extra time or miles and this is also where you can incorporate you long/short strides. One walk/jog session you do short stride, long distance another day you do long stride, short distance.

Hope this helps. :o)

Will Ugg-style boots be in season this fall?

I have a pair of black similar style boots with fur trim on hold where I work at (depament store) and they're about mid-calve length. I was curious, though, will these type of shoes be as popular this season as it was last year?

Will Ugg-style boots be in season this fall?
Personally, i don't like black, or pink or blue, colored Ugg or Ugg-like boots. I'd stick with the light tan.

If they're in this season? I'm not sure. I'll be wearing some though.

Hope I helped. :)
Reply:im not sure but those are really cute

the shoes that are "in" is flats

i think that last year was more popular than this year
Reply:yes! ive already seen em at very fashionable stores like lord and taylor, bloomies, macys, and limited too!
Reply:uggs were never in style for stylish people. they were popular but not stylish or fashionable. i read in teen vogue that they are out this fall
Reply:YES
Reply:well, in all honestly, i was just gonna put no outta boredom but the answer's yes, but does it really matter and i am so gonna get flamed for this. lol. anyway, yeah, they're awsome and are just as hott this year...
Reply:Yes. Ugg-boot styles and uggs, will be in this fall. Even if you don't want real uggs, they have Emu's, and other boots. If you don't want to pay $100.00 then you can go to Marshalls and buy them for $50.00
Reply:Ugg is a brand that will be in for years to come.

The genuine ugg boot are offer an excellent level of comfort and a wonderful style as well.

Although comfortable is not a part of fashion, but they are cute and stylish too. New style with wide variety of colors was made Ugg so popular.

Now days you will find that the window displays of any clothing or shoes store across the world will have a pair of these trendy uggs in it.

Go on, be daring, go out and wear them with whatever you want. Just remember you don't have to limit yourself to wear Ugg with jeans, you can wear them with anything.

Love Ugg
Reply:yess i just got the new uptowns for my birthday. YES
Reply:I dont know, but what I do know is that I'm still wearing mine this winter, cause theyre so damn cute :)

Ballet dancing experts?

I do ballet for about 5 hours a week. i am quite good on flat shoes - i get merit/distinction in my exams - (last one grade 5) but i find pointe work really hard - my feet are almost flat so i find it impossible to get right up on my pointes AND turn out my feet AND straighten my legs at the same time. what am i doing wrong?

Ballet dancing experts?
First of all .. Forcing turnout in the feet will distort the position of the entire body, ( it is obvious you have noticed this judging by your question) ... and often results in injury, especially to the knee. All turnout occurs primarily through hip external rotation. It is not your legs;feet that will make you a strong en point dancer , it is your underlying stomach muscles/ pelvic floor that will hold en point.

Pilates is used significantly to help improve core strength and flexibility, it is this CORE strength that gives you the ability to hold your whole body from head to toe, in correct alingment for pointe .. sew your ribs to your hips and all the work is done between the belly button and the pelvic floor, do this and everything else will just fall naturally into place.
Reply:My feet are like that too. My best advice is just to keep practicing, it took me a *while* to get all the way on my box esp. on my left foot, my weak one. Practice doing eleves, turn out, keep your legs straight and go up on to the box of your shoe as far as you can. The more you practice the more you'll get up onto your box little by little.

(do this at the barre, less chance to accidentally hurt yourself.)
Reply:You need to strech out more before you dance. Try to also warm up a lot at the bar on pointe.

Has anyone in here been a "late bloomer" in life?

I am intelligent, hard working and not to sound vain, but I am somewhat physically attractive as well. I am 27 years old, and for whatever reason, my life seems to be in absolute idle for the last 3 -4 years. I want to evolve in finances, I would like a family one day and I would like to find something that I would like to call a career, but I am not in that boat at all. Some people are in my same shoes, while others get their life together from the moment they leave the family nest. I have tons of potential, but I really never found solidity in anything. The years fly by the older I get, and the chances for personel success seems more slim each year. Can anyone give me any advice or encouragement. I really don't know what I should do.

Has anyone in here been a "late bloomer" in life?
I think saying late bloomer is a negative way to see it. I am 29 now (was that outloud...lol) and I just got married (happily) as of the beginning of this year and currently I have no children yet. We just bought our first home and I make good money but have no idea for a career what I want to do for the rest of my life.

I left home before most people my age heck a lot of people I know didn't leave hom until they were about 25. I thought I knew what I wanted to do. I have always had long lasting relatinships but didn't find the "one" until I wasn't looking at all.

They say at different times in your life different things will be right for you.

It is true. When I first moved out I knew what I was going to do and thought I had a "plan" and it all figured out. Things change. I have a new position in another field I am now married and we just bought our house. each step you make and each choice you now make heads you on the path of who you will be tomorrow and what you will do.

Take a step back, focus on something you like to do and just let it happen. Odds are there are clues in your life right now your overlooking because your trying to hard to see it.

Let me know how it works out for you, I would be interested. Just know it is worth the wait to do it right once. Remember that and be thankful how far ahead of things you really are.

How many people do you know who are already divorced? Perhaps taking a little bit longer may have done the trick in some cases. Or perhaps not. Be confident in the things that are right and best for you. Be strong cause your a leader when your different. I hope this gives you some good insight.
Reply:uuuhhhhhhhh, stop worrying so much, sheeesh, u gave me a headache.
Reply:You need to try a different options (e.g., jobs %26amp; girls) %26amp; not give up. I was 27 before things started working for me.
Reply:Yeah, sucks doesn't it? :/
Reply:You are still young enough to achieve those things you want out of life. Surround yourself with people who have some of the same goals. It will happen if you work for it.
Reply:Yes, I was a late bloomer. Arguably, I never did bloom much. But I have also suffered through an experience that has taught me much about "late bloomers."

On December 16, 2005, My Steve committed suicide. He was a never-did-bloom. The reasons why are many and varied, but one thing you must keep in mind is that your resume gets thinner as your hair does. That is, the older you get, the more people looking at that resume are going to wonder why you haven't done anything. So the late bloomer needs to consider more and more whether he is really more suited to self-employment, something where there's no need to explain "what took you so long." In the arts, in self-employment, in master craftsmanship -- anything where there's no need to account for your past -- you can still bloom. But the older you get, the harder it is to get a "straight" job that will expect you to have run on the same old treadmill as everyone else.

Find your focus and move on independently, and forget about the people with their smooth, broad track and their running shoes. You would not have liked that path, anyway.
Reply:27 is still very young. Be patient, have faith, and keep working hard!
Reply:It sounds like you're just sitting on your butt and waiting for change to happen.
Reply:mid...life....crisis!
Reply:You have too much idle time on your hands.

Start saving money, contribute to your company's 401k, set up a separate savings account and put money in there regularly, say 10% of your net income. Each time you see your bank balance, you will feel better and better about your financial situation. It's never too late to start. And 27 years old is a very tender age when you start feeling sorry about all the money you blew on night clubs and food. It happens to everyone, so don't fret about money. Who knows, you may win the Lotto tomorrow and managing money will become your biggest nightmare! You don't want that, do you? :o)

Second, find a hobby and join a club where you can meet a variety of different kinds of people. There are photography clubs, book reading clubs, kayak clubs, travel clubs, you get the idea. Take a course or two at the j.c. or volunteer at the soup kitchen or the humane society. Get out of the house and do something.

Career-wise, be very aggressive in job-hunting and do not settle.

There can be no improvements or climbing the corporate ladder when you are bored with your job and just get by with the same paycheck year after year. With more education and training, you can switch careers and apply for more prestigous jobs and positions that you will come to love.

You never go into a car dealership and just take the first car the salesman offers to you, right? You shop around for the best deal on your car. The same is true of careers.

Lastly and most importantly, do not compare yourself to others around you. Everyone's got a different life to live. Have you considered other people who are less fortunate than you? To help you feel better, take my husband, for example. He's 37 years old and he is just starting school to study autocad. That's gonna take 2 years + to get his AS degree. He's embarassed to be around all these 18 year olds preparing an essay on EB White and Mark Twain and relearning algebra for the second time since high school. You know, it's really hard not to compare yourself to other more successful, happy people around, but you just have to be proactive and remain optimistic.

Take care!
Reply:I found my real career just months before being 30, and I like it a lot and it is rewarding.

Don't worry, I know people who found their best career when they were older, and even when they retired.

Should you run through the pain?

I am getting pain in my foot when I run. It works itself out, about half way through. I got new shoes and am running around the track and not on concrete. I did a small marathon few weeks ago and want to continue running, and felt fine but last week I have noticed the pain in the side of left foot.

Any advice?

Should you run through the pain?
Depends. There is a difference between pain %26amp; soreness. Pain can indicate an injury, in which case you should rest for a few days. The amount of rest time depends on the level of pain.

Soreness will feel more like either you need to stretch it or you've simply overworked your foot. In that case, continue running, but tone it down for a few days. Don't run as hard as usual, but don't stop completely.

If the pain becomes unbearable or close to it during a workout, stop the workout. Running through bad pain can make the injury even worse. Pain isn't bad in all ways- it can indicate when it's time to stop %26amp; rest.

Finally, take ibeuprofen. This will prevent inflamation %26amp; lower the pain level. However DO NOT take the ibeuprofen close to a workout because it will mask any pain you may have had otherwise and you may injur your foot further.
Reply:Well i have really painful shin splints, and I always run through the pain, but I don't think that's good, because then it'll never get better. If your really concerned, I would see a doctor, or you could just wait it out, and see if it gets better. I hope this helps :)
Reply:You probably shouldn't run through the pain but instead have it evaluated and then decide if it is something needing dealt with or something that is OK to run on.

I ran through the pain for years and now have huge chunks of bone and cartilage in my knee to remind me of that. It is good to listen to the signals that your body sends you
Reply:stop running for a couple of days. try to see a doctor
Reply:i had that same problem when i first started running (which was like a week ago) what i did was over the weekend my dad bought me some type of shoe insoles like the gellin things and i use them to run and now my foot doesnt cramp. my cramp was in the middle underneath part of my right foot, If yours still does hurt then i would suggest seeing a doctor or a footdoctor if theres one near you
Reply:PLEASE READ THIS

i am 16 years old and last year i found out that i have an accessory novicliar bone in both of my feet. it is a very common thing to have and the pain can be terrible. i broke it last year, and what it is is a tiny bone inside the foot that pushes another bone out, so there is a good sized bump on the inside of both of your feet. i run alot and the pain sometimes that i get when i run is terrible. unfortunately there is nothing for it other than surgery to get the bone removed, but it would be a good thing to get checked out. the pain is always on the inside of my feet, on or around the arch, but in this case you may have broken it cause the pain of the break is not that bad, so i would go to a doctor, may be a stress fracture
Reply:al ways make sure you have comftable shoes be fore running
Reply:I would seek some sort of medical attention. If not from a doctor, ask a fellow runner who has experienced something similar. Many injuries, or pains, will only get worse if you run on them. However, there are some injuries that are not at risk of getting worse by running through them. Whether or not your particular injury will worsen by running through it, I do not know.
Reply:I dont think that running thru the pain is the answer. I ran a 5miler race on saturday knowing that I have plantar fasciitis, boy did my foot hurt worse. It was not bad when i ran on the track on wed. But the track is more softer than the road. Now I have more of a setback. Working on nonstressful workout

Ladies,How Much $ Do You Spend On Youself Each Month?

Ladies,

we usually have more needs than the men has,I mean.....

We gotta buy pads/tampons each month,

Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner usually goes faster if you've got long hair.

Make-up,make-up remover pads,make-up remover.

Toothpaste (when it runs out,it may last a while),

Manicure/Pedicure,wax eyebrows and other unwanted hair),

Haircuts,

Shave gel/ razors,

Body Lotion,

Face cream/lotion,

Cleanser and etc.

Shopping for clothes/shoes/accessories/bags/purses...

etc.etc. etc.

Different girls/women have different needs, that's why I am asking the question to see how much $ girls/women spend on themselves each month???

Ladies,How Much $ Do You Spend On Youself Each Month?
i do my own manicure, pedicure, brows, color my own hair.

i allways look good and put together.

i spend about $200 a month (including clothes - i shop in outlets) sometimes more.
Reply:About 150.
Reply:I dont get my eyebrows done, or mani, pedis and waxing.

I do spend about $150 a month. I am only 12 years old though.
Reply:Not nearly enough, mommy comes last... but i did just get myself a nice pair of shoes...
Reply:$10 or so... my momma pays 4 that... i went and priced it all out for a month... and it was about $150-$200.
Reply:not enough these days, I have 3 boys
Reply:Let's see, including weekly salon visits, manicure/pedicure, clothes, shoes, eye brow waxing, massage, dry cleaning, gym fees, I would say about $500.

Gee...never thought about it like that.
Reply:Between 500-600 a month if I only get what I need.
Reply:Well, my paychecks come out to be about $2400 a month and I spend what I get, so I'd have to say about $2400 a month!

Edit: Who the hell gave me a thumbs down?!?! I answered the question honestly! The question was how much do you spend on yourself a month? I SPEND THAT MUCH A MONTH!

Someone needs to lighten up.

Let's itemize it then:

Tampons: $4.00 or so because I'm loving those Playtex Sports

Shampoo/Conditioner - I've had the same bottles of Aveda Shampure in my shower for three months now - I've got pretty short hair and I wash it ever other day

Make-up - THAT'S THE BIG ONE THERE. I shop at Sephora way too much, dropping maybe $50 or so a month on different things

Mani/pedi - I've been doing that stuff myself lately, but when I had my acrylics I'd pay about $30 for a fill of pink/white at this really good salon in San Jose. That was a little over $70 a month or so including the tip That's just for the fill. No wonder my wallet hurt for awhile.

Haircuts - I won't need one of those for a little while, my hair's already too short.

Clothing. Some months I don't buy any, some months I spend about $400 on clothes - it all depends on whether I lose weight or put on a little and how my normal clothes are fitting me.

Events. I love going to comedy shows, sporting events and concerts, so I'll spend upwards of $40-60 on tickets, depending on whats happening each month.

Alcohol. My freezer has more alcohol than my fridge has food . All of the bottles are sealed as well, just in case I need to bring a bottle to a friend's house for a party and it needs to be chilled. I like to think ahead.

And bills. My bills aren't that bad. $765 rent, $102 a month for cable %26amp; internet, $200 cell phone (i have my brother on my cell plan), $40 car insurance, $25 gym membership, yada yada...

$90 or so goes towards cigarette consumption when I buy cartons... more than $200 a month goes towards gasoline.

I bet somehow that all equals up to my paycheck...
Reply:I spend abot $195 on ocassion, regularly i spend about $ 40.

And i'm 13.
Reply:Hair care: 20$

Nails + Makeup: Depend if I have an ooccason. normally it is about 15$ but I usually get my nails done for a dance ect.

Clothes: 70 ish. =o

Pads: Don't get my period yet hehe

Treats like movies, dinner ect: 40$
Reply:Nail Fill (twice a month) $40

Pedicure $30/month

Highlights (every other month) $150

Eyelash Extensions (every other month) $235

Tanning $40/month

Makeup approx $20 month (it usually lasts awhile)

Message $40/month

Eyebrow wax $17 (twice a month)

Hair products $50/month

New clothes easily $200 /month

...I guess that adds up to toooo much!

Question for gay men or women with a high sense of fashion?

I just returned to the college life and I have been working in a factory for the last 8 years of my life and work was my life, so I lost all sense of fashion because I work with a lot of guys that don't care about it so it has rubbed off on me.

I am trying to break the cycle and know what is fashionable as in clothes, shoes, hair style. I realize that a lot of people would just tell me to be myself and dress how I normally would, however I am trying to make business contacts and my work clothes are not stylish or professional. So any help that you could give me would be much apppreciated.

Thank you

Question for gay men or women with a high sense of fashion?
My advice is to hang out near the place where you want to make business contacts and/or just hang out in the mall near stores that sell the kind of clothes you think you should buy and just follow the crowd... for now.

Then, in a few months, you would have regained your sense of style and identity associated with said style and be able to maybe just accessorize more to fit your own personal taste
Reply:okay so here's my advice: go to the sites like banana republic, club monaco, united colors of beneton...look at stores like zara, etc and thats a sense of whats in style and works on "real women" not stick thin 7 ft tall models...wear clothes that are tailored and fit well...not skin tight or frumpy, you dont want to look like you borrowed a teens outfit or are 10 lbs heavier...get pieces that can be matched easily like a denim blazer, which you can wear to the office [depending how corporate your job is] with a pair of black trousers and a button down blouse with black heels..for the weekend you can throw it over a cami and a khaki skirt or khaki-colored corduroy skirt with brown knee length high heeled boots or flats...or to get a real idea of what works and doesnt, make up advice and watch it in video shows like TLC's "what not to wear," etc...like i said pieces you can mix and match so you can get a whole bunch of outfits from classic pieces...hope that helps...

What clothing items do you splurge on?

What clothing items (shoes, pants, shirts, etc) do you not mind spending a large amount of money on and why? For example, some people splurge on bras and dont mind spending upwards of $100 on a single bra, because they feel they are buying a quality bra in a hard to find size that makes them look thinner and will last for 5 years. or something. Some people do it for the brand name. So what do you splurge on and why? Oh and what brands are they that you splurge on?!

What clothing items do you splurge on?
The best items to splurge on are investment pieces that will last a long time like coats, shoes, and handbags. Jewelry is also something I like to spend a little bit more money on, because I can wear them forever.

I'm a graduate student, so I don't exactly have the money to buy couture or black label items. However, when I do feel like buying accessories, I make sure they are of the best quality. For instance, I recently bought a pair of white Chanel sunglasses for $400 and a Club Monaco coat for $350. I also bought a pair of really good, black suede pumps from Cole Haan.

My philosophy has always been that it is a better deal to save up your money to buy one item of high quality rather than spend the same amount of a dozen items. A very well-made accessory or coat will instantly dress up a tee shirt and jeans and will last you forever.

Choose your items carefully. Do your research before you shop.
Reply:Jeans - Buffalo

Seriously, I can't find any jeans that fit me until I found buffalo... Guess has good jeans too, but still Buffalo takes the gold.

Shoes

Active - Nike Shox

Casual - Nike Cortez, Puma

Tops:

Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph lauren, Lacoste, some Abercrombie and fitch...

I know I'm a guy, but all these things and places have women's stuff too... Those shoes I mentioned look sexy on women depending what pants/shorts are being worn with them...and so do some of those shirts and tight buffalo jeans. I'm not a fan of rips, but some rips on women's jeans look super sexy..

you may not care about a guys opinion, but I just thought I'd throw it out there...
Reply:It depends on what it is and how much I like it, I've spent $50.00 on that really cute buckle belt from the mall. I've spent $50.00 a piece on go go boots, I've spent hundreds on makeup, makeup is the most that I spend my money on. I always look for sale items on the clothes, I don't like to spend lots of money on clothes or bras or anything like that, unless I just love it and have to have it, the most I've spent on a single item is $50.00, unless it's makeup, I've gotta have the makeup, I'll spend more on that!
Reply:marc jacobs stuff and miss sixty and BCBG stuff i splurge on these very expernsive outfits becuase everyone has hollister and abercrombie and it makes me srtand out but don't get me wrong i love to find so thirft store stuff
Reply:not to brag, but i splurge on everything.
Reply:For me shoes and different kinds of tops. :-) For shoes I guess airwalk, nike ect.... For different kinds of tops like all different kinds of tops. The brands are mostly abercrombie, garage, and

hollister. There are a lot more but that's just mostly where. Another thing is earrings. I get a lot...

What do I do if I stepped in dog poop?

I was in the basement in my parents home looking for a keyboard. No one really uses the basement much, and while I was there, I saw (too late) poop on the floor. I squished some with my shoe. Now it smells really bad. It's not my dog, I don't take care of it, and I don't want to. What do I do? My Mom went to sleep and my Dad is in Chicago. I hate the dog (as much as you can hate a fluffy annoying barky cute dog) and I don't want to clean it up and I don't want to tell my mom about it because t hen I'll feel bad for not doing it. What do I do... ignore it like I have been for the last 30 minutes? It smells now.. arg!

What do I do if I stepped in dog poop?
Got a CO2 fire extinguisher handy? You can blast that crap and instantly freeze it so it will stop smelling.

Don't blast your foot though, you might get frostbite. Maybe you can sit near a door and just stick your foot outside for a while. It might rain and wash it off.
Reply:just wash ur feet!!

that is what i would do
Reply:just sit down on the computer and pretend its not there. ...lazy stinky man.
Reply:You can wipe your shoe on the grass or wipe your shoe with something.
Reply:Throw your shoes in the washer. Suck it up and get to cleanin'!
Reply:This may sound mean, but suck it up a little, it's just poop, you poop too ya know. Just get a shovel and scoop it up..... if it's on carpet you might need to get HOT water and soap and scrub it for a few seconds. Sorry, i wish there was an easier way, too.
Reply:Your mother changed your poopy diapers for many months, when you were a baby. I do not think it would kill you to clean a little poop for her. Let me know if I'm wrong.

In the future look at the floor befor you walk into a room
Reply:WASH IT OFF!
Reply:Haha, if you're too lazy to clean up a lil bit of poopy, then I hope you had bare feet and got poopy between your lazy toes!
Reply:If your shoes are not too expensive just throw them away! You should tell your mom about the poop in the basement, so she won't step on it like you did.

I am looking for good basketball shoes that have good ankle protection and that are maybe under $80.?

Hello.

I am a teen and am looking for basketball shoes that have good ankle protection and that are under $80. And I have just gotten a cast removed from my leg last week. So I was wondering which ones you have had or heard of that are good. Thank you.

I am looking for good basketball shoes that have good ankle protection and that are maybe under $80.?
Shoes themselves do not offer enough support for weak ankles. They can give you a little peace of mind if you think they help, but their effect physiologically speaking is very minute. Aircast ankle braces, lace-up ankle braces, or taping are the most effective methods of supporting ankles (in the order I have listed them).

Looking for new running shoes?

I ususally run three or four times a week, and four or so miles at a time. Sometimes its on a treadmill, sometimes its on roads (both dirt and paved), and I'm looking for a really lightweight shoe with good arches that will last me to at least the end of the summer (for some reason I have a tendency to wear down shoes pretty quickly). I usually look to Adidas when I need shoes, so Adidas brand would be preferable, but it doesnt really matter. Does anybody have any suggestions for a good shoe?

Looking for new running shoes?
Mizuno makes some great lightweight shoes, but the lighter they are, more often than not, the faster they wear out. If you find a pair that you like, buy two and rotate them. 48 hours between use makes your shoes last longer. Take out the insoles after a run to encourage air through the foam and the decompressing. size them to a thumbwidth beyond your toes and buy them at a running store, not a general sports store. Running store staff are specifically trained by the shoe suppliers to know how to fit the shoe right. I go back to the same guy everytime because he just looks at my foot and knows what will fit, even though he makes me run on the treadmill in the store before I buy them. I like mizuno because I have a wide foot, so I don't like Saucony, they generally have narrower fits. you really have to try them all to know what fits well. keep in mind the rules of buying running shoes - new ones when your ankles or knees hurt, new ones after 800+/- kms (500 miles), and newer ones only for longer runs (over 20km). Hope that helps

(I have 4 pairs of good condition mizunos at any given time, always in rotation, 1 stays at work, just in case I want to run home. It's not because I can't help buying shoes, it's that I can make them last so much longer if I give a pair 4-6 days off)
Reply:I just bought some ASICS earlier today, they are my first running shoes ever and I really like them! I haven't even had a chance to break them in yet but they are really comfortable right out of the box!

Even though I'm a total running noob I would recommend ASICS brand shoes. ^_^

Pretty bad foot pain, what is it and what do I do?

Alright so i made regionals barely last year in track and my times are slightly better this year so I thought I would make it again. Regionals are this Saturday so last week I started training really hard, doing 400 repeats, hard 3 mile runs, and a 7.5 mile run on Friday.

Well that wouldn't really be a problem if I had been running 6 miles a day or so, but the farthest I had run lately was like 4 miles. Turns out I didn't make regionals but my left foot has been killing me since I ran those 7 miles. My arch hurts when I bend my toes and the outside of it hurts too( I think because I started running on the outside of my foot when my arch started hurting).

I'm just wondering what kind of injury it is and what I should do for it. Should I ice it or stop running or just run through the pain?

And I've got insoles and good shoes, I just think it's a result of nonstop running and such since cross country started, then basketball, and then track.

Pretty bad foot pain, what is it and what do I do?
I do not think you have plantar faciitis. It sounds more like ligaments, however, you do need to take a break. Use ice not heat. Some anti-inflammatory may help. You realize the long day brought this injury on, and rest, massage, and ice is the best thing to do. When it started hurting you continued and caused more injury. Next time when in pain stop. You should not run while this hurts. 2 weeks rest may help, and then you can see if you still have pain,if so, see the doctor.
Reply:only thing u have to do is...

1. fild a hot water to bathtub or bucket..

2. then put ur legs in to it...

3. wait 15 minute...

it will make ur feel really good....
Reply:You probably have plantar fasciitis. Look at http://adam.about.com/reports/000061_9.h...

I had a bad pain in my arch when I started running hard on steep inclines and declines. I also started this after a long time of not running. I had been running like this for about a month already, but about a day after one of my longer runs (about 5 miles) the arch in my foot started killing me and didn't stop for about 2 weeks.

The doctor told me that I have flat feet and suggested that I buy better shoes or inserts. It did get better after about a week and a half of not running (I still walked around school and everything, I just had a limp for about a week).

My suggestions are to:

(1) lay off any hard exercise on your feet for about 2 weeks. I haven't had any serious problems since so it must have just been the shock of increasing my workout so quickly

(2) my doctor told me to try different shoes. Just because they are expensive doesn't necessarily mean they are right for you. I still use my crappy shoes, but I am not a serious runner, so I don't care.

(3) if you do run or use you foot then you can ice it afterwards to reduce the pain from swelling.
Reply:Sounds like a heel spur take 800mg ibuprofen and put foot up and make sure you have quality shoes. I would suggest staying off it until the swelling goes down
Reply:I had the same problem for years. My feet would hurt so bad, it hurt to walk. I went to my doctor. He told me the name of the condition, but I cannot remember it. It is common for a lot of people.

1) He told me to get a coke can, set on the ground and while sitting down, place your foot it bare footed and roll it back and forth. It massages, and exercises your arch.

2) Also, while sitting down throughout the day, keep your toes on the ground and raise your heels up and down. It will be another exercise for your foot.

3) You may have to change to a better shoe while you do your training. I switched from Nike to New Balance. It made a world of difference.

4) Footlocker has an insole that is about $20-$25. It's called a PloySorb. I use it in all my shoes. It is very comfortable.

I haven't had any problems since.

Hope it works.
Reply:if it stays in pain seek a doctor other wise i would try to soke it in a good hot bath it always helps me cuz i run track lots of times
Reply:First of all you need to go to the doctor as sooon as you can. i had a stress fracture in my foot last year and missed my whole soph. year because i was too stubborn to just stop and take a break.

my advice --- don't just run through the pain

no pain doesn't always equal no gain

i had to figure that out the hard way
Reply:Hm.... I'm not really good at answering these questions but maybe you should take a small break? It might do you some good to help the pain lessen.
Reply:its proly cause you strained a muscle in your foot and if that happens then yes its going to hurt, and if you keep pushing it then its not going to heal

Any suggestions for my next pair of running shoes?

I've been wearing Reebok Premiers for about 3+ months now, and they've been okay but lately it feels like I'm getting shin splints in my right leg which never happend before. I'm thinking maybe my shoes are getting worn out. The reeboks were my first pair as I just started running in late January this year.

I'm an underpronator, medium-high arch, heavier (208 lbs...and I'm losing. thats down from 230) and run about 15-20 miles a week.

i've been looking at brooks glyrcerins or maybe some asics. I'm not really sure what's best.

also, does being heavier make your shoes not last as long? I've read to replace them every 500 or so...would someone heavier like me need to do that sooner?

Any suggestions for my next pair of running shoes?
well being heavier sure makes you absorb more shock, but there are shoes for people that run high mileage because they lots of shock as well from hitting the pavement so much.

personally, i love asics. really, when you go to a professional shoe store, they'll just give you a whole bunch of shoes (for a underpronator) and you just have to try all of them and see which is more comfortable for you. they wont know what shoes most comfortable, they can only recommend shoes for underpronators.

also, if the black part near the heel is wearing out, replace them (even though you haven't run 500 mile yet) mine normally go 350-400 with the mileage i have
Reply:nike shocks..ive never had shin splints

Why are my feet like this?

My feet are always dry and callused even though I put lotion on them every day. I have very wide feet, and I walk on my tiptoes because it's a habit. I know calluses can be caused by wide feet rubbing on shoes, but since it's summer I wear flips flops and can't remember the last time I had sneakers on. What can I do to make my feet less dry and have no calluses all the time?

Why are my feet like this?
Homeopathy :-

SULFUR 200C Three Doses in Three Weeks, one dose a week first thing in the morning with nothing to eat 30 minutes before and after taking it and Apply CALENDULA OINTMENT on your feet just a small amount on your soles and rub it in. Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, mints and Red Meat. report back after two doses.

Take Care and God Bless !
Reply:Get a pumice stone. They are sold in the foot care department of drug stores. Get the stone and your feet wet and rub it on the calluses. It will take off all the dead skin. Don't rub too hard. Just lightly for several days until they are gone. Use lots of lotion. I usually put some really heavy cream on my feet when they are dry and then wear socks to bed. In the morning my feet are really soft and flip-flop/sandal ready.
Reply:Wide feet? I'm right there with you! Is there a reason for you to have developed that tiptoe walking habit? Wide feet do need room in proper shoes. If you go barefooted, calluses are our feet's way of protecting themselves from harsh walking surfaces. To help soften those calluses, in healthy feet, right after bathing or showering, gently rub with a pumice stone found in most drugstores. Then rub on a moisture barrier type lotion, such as creamy petroleum jelly. Use caution as getting your feet wet or sweaty may cause them to be slippery, even in flipflops. Best time to help moisturize would be @ bedtime. Hope this helps!
Reply:i have no idea
Reply:go to a podiatrist
Reply:use a pumis stone ands rub your feet with it after your bath then put foot lotion on the stone removes dry dead skin and callauses
Reply:i dont know
Reply:Fungus can cause crackkng that looks like calluses. Use Tinactin every day for 2 weeks and see if it goes away. You might be surprised.
Reply:Some people develop calluses more and faster than others...and no amount of external lotions will prevent that. However, if you're running around in flip-flops, it's likely that this will continue to be an issue for you until you go back to wearing sneakers (preferrably with thick, soft socks that prevent rubbing). In the meantime, you may try increasing your healthy oils consumption (fish, olive, etc.)...which will help all of your skin replenish the oils it is losing due to activity and hot weather.
Reply:You can go have a pedicure done...or...you can buy...like I do....a callus shaver. Soak your feet and then this shaver takes the calluses off. It dosent hurt...(unless you accidentially shave off skin that is alive) It comes right off. Then do some basic exfoliating and keep it up at least twice a week.

How can people be so ignorant? Details...?

Alright I'm at Wal-Mart last night getting a few things. As I was leaving, there was this lady with her two kids. The little girl was probably 4 and the little boy was probably 1. Well it's about 40 degrees outside and all 3 of them are pretty well dressed--except for the fact that the 1 yr. old doesn't have shoes or socks on. He's outside in 40 degree weather with nothing on his feet. He's bawling and his feet are red. I'm just thinking to myself "How ignorant can you get?" I mean, it doesn't take a genius to figure out "Hey, it's cold out. Might wanna put something on my kid's feet before we go." It's not like they were poor or anything. They had a nice car, kids were dressed nicely, they weren't dirty, etc. so I'll give the mom the benefit of the doubt there. But really--how stupid can you get? That 4 yr. old little girl could probably figure it out better than her mom that "I think baby brother needs some shoes on.." What do you think about parents like that?

How can people be so ignorant? Details...?
i actually was in that situation one day behind this lady only it was winter like 0 out and i kept thinking to myself poor baby what is wrong with this woman and i dont know what came over me but before i knew it i was saying out loud i would buy some socks for my child instead of candy.. the woman said what and the look on the cashiers face was like omg... all i could do at that point was repeat it so i did... thinking here it goes i am going to get smacked lol but all she did was storm out of the store the cashier said i cant beilieve you did that i said yea me either lol but some people shouldnt have any kids what kills me even more is when a mom and dad come in dressed in coats and hats and there kid is in a t-shirt come on if your cold dont you think the child is too...
Reply:MAybe he had just kicked them off when he had got into the store...my daughter used to do that..she likes her feet to be cold. I dont know why but she always does that...i used to put her shoes back on but its just a fight back and forth. So maybe she just stuck them in her shopping cart and was letting it go. I dont know what the case was but i know ive been proably considered guilty of that a time or two
Reply:there are a lot of ignorant people. but before you judge people you should think about maybe there is a reason why the kids feet are bare. i have a one yr old and she ALWAYS kicks her shoes and socks off. or maybe the baby had something wrong with her feet so she wasnt supposed to put anything on them. really, you never know.
Reply:The one year old probably took his socks and shoes off in the store and the mother was too busy to put them back on.
Reply:well I think she should figure it out before her child ends up in the ER.Because little children like that can get ill faster than teens/adults

Is that all due to a pair of stockings?

I was asked to go to a private business meeting for my company last week. The meeting was held at a rich Janpanese family's house. I was told, by my boss, to wear formal suit for the meeting. I had my black suit, a nice tie and a nice black lether shoes. Honestly, I seldom went to such a formal meeting for my company like that. I had all things ready, but I forgot one thing, which ruined all my future. Right before I left, I noticed that I didn't have a pair of black dress socks with me. I didn't have time to buy any, so I found a piar of my wife's black stockings to put on. I almost felt like going to die when I got there. The Japanese asked all the guests to take over their shoes! That's was their tradition! The stockings I was wearing was a silk black pair, they were those sexy transparent kind! The girl of theirs began to laugh, and I got so embarressed! My boss told me I was fired because the business was failed due to my fault! Do you think that's the real or main reason? God!

Is that all due to a pair of stockings?
That's wired. What you mean "sexy transparent"?
Reply:I'm sorry but where have you been if you didn't know the its a tradition to remove your shoes in a Japanese house..... you should have stopped at Wal-mart and bought a pair of black socks...though i don't feel you should have been fired for it...you tried to make do....maybe sending an apolgey letter to the family would help??

Modern high-street fashion pretty crap at moment?

Is anybody else sick of the fashion in highstreets these days. I find it hard to find something to spend my money on! Everything seems baggy/ asymmetrical or crazy patterned. The shoes are like betty boops rejects all shiny and large and pretty gross lol. I dunno I just think the styles have gotten very quirky in the last 5 or so years and there are not the nice things there used to be..Ok there were always trends like leggings and things but it seems to be totally taking over ahhhh. Anybody any opinions?

Modern high-street fashion pretty crap at moment?
Just remember that fashion is decided by people trying to sell clothes, often at inflated prices. They change them regularly to sell more and pay lots of simpering idiots to push their styles on TV so the idiotic general public will buy them because they're the 'fashion'. Don't know where you live but if you are in England can you remember such disasters as hot pants, loons, 'Frankie say War' tee shirts, platform soles, bell bottoms and so on. Nobody would be seen dead in such things now but, at one time, they were 'must haves'. Personally I don't follow 'fashion' . I buy and wear what I like and if people don't like it then 'Tough'. If more people refused to buy clothes that were foisted on as as 'fashionable' then perhaps these people would start to realise that they can't dictate to us. I remember some years ago being on a train from London to Manchester and some poser of a fashion buyer was waving his mobile phone around (They were relatively recent then) and made a call to his buyers to get hold of as much tartan cloth as they could. later I asked him why and he told me that he had been to a fashion meeting in London and that's what they'd decided everyone would wear that Autumn (Fall to you Yanks). Sure enough in Autumn all the girls were wearing their dark green and brown tartans. Not seen any since though. I bet this guy made a killing.
Reply:that's the reason why I've grown to hate shopping. it's hard to find nice descent things in on the high street, i give up.
Reply:Personally I've never been one to buy into anybodies elite I've always made and broke my own styles why wear what everybody else does when you can be you? Could you imagine walking into the same room to find other people have exactly the same clothes?

I would agree completely that the fashion right now is really bland it's all the same thing's over and over again. But I think you should go with what makes you happy I'm sure there's something out there just screaming out for you to buy it!!

Good question,

Thank you.
Reply:i agree!! the fashions these days are made for skinny, shapeless people whose meal is one carrot a day. What happened to the good clothes? I have to admit, i love shopping, especially clothes shopping, but its getting harder to find clothes that i like that are fairly decently priced...its so sad!!!
Reply:I agree totally - but I like to be different from anyone else ! I get alot of my stuff which you dont see in our high streets from Ebay - I have found a number of shops in hong kong and germany which are cheaper despite the postage. My mates are always asking where I get my stuff!

Don't you hate it when you are the last person to answer a question a here?

When you answer last, no one thumbs up you, no one bothers to read that far, and you are a shoe in for NOT getting the best answer because you are last! I hate that. Sometimes it just takes me a little longer to reply because I would like to be thorough and there are people that reply with one line and then go back and edit their reply just so they are first. Does anyone else feel this way?

Don't you hate it when you are the last person to answer a question a here?
definitely.

you summed it all up nicely.

it happens to me all of the time!
Reply:Like Beth, I've often been chosen as BA, even from the last position. The advantage there (if it is not an opinion question) is that you see what everyone else has answered, perhaps wrongly or not fully enough -- and then can swoop in with the full, true information. So, it has its advantages, as well.
Reply:I've been chosen plenty of times as Best Answers even when I was the last. I've also chosen Best Answers that were last. It has nothing to do with position, but the quality of the answer.
Reply:Actually, I will sometimes skip over a bunch in the middle while going down to see what questions are at the bottom of the page, and will usually catch the last one.

Being stuck in the middle somewhere would probably suck more.
Reply:From experience I have found when I am last I often get a best answer, particularly if there are a lot of replies.
Reply:I have to hurry and answer this Q so I won't be the last one! lol . Actually, it doesn't bother me, since I figure the asker will read my answer and that's who matters. Except for P%26amp;S or questions with one simple answer, I think you still have a good shot at being best answer. Sometimes the people who answer quickly don't take time to really read the question or give a good answer. I'm last quite a bit since I'm slow getting things typed in, like now. ☺
Reply:Yeah it sucks, but that's the way things happen sometimes. Like when you are completely clueless why one of your answers got 4 low ratings. People are so sensitive.
Reply:Yes, it is disappointing.

It makes my day when the questioner and other answers respond to your answer, it makes me feel special. When you are the last, everyone has usually moved on. It's sad.

Yes, I am easily amused. :)
Reply:I'm usually last, because I leave new questions open for a while.

No, I don't hate it.

People DO read my answer; many choose mine as Best; people vote for my answer; I get thumbs up.

Before you answer, do a Refresh of the page, and read the other answers.

If what you have to say has already been said, don't bother; find another question.

If a lot of people have answered, and the answers go to page 2, there's a very good chance your answer won't be read.

But if there are a dozen or so answers, then yours probably WILL be read.
Reply:Absolutely. I read all the replys though and for every question I ask, unless I don't like the response, I give a thumbs up.

I promise this is my last question about shoes, but which pair?

of black flats do you think are cuter?

I need black flats pronto...

And if you say neither, let me know what you think is unattractive about them:

or these patent ones (i kinda hate patent leather tho!)

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/...

or these!

I promise this is my last question about shoes, but which pair?
if i had to choose i would go with the first pair. I am however, more of a fan of rounded toe flats than pointed toe ones. I just think they are cuter and make the feet look nicer. But to each her own.
Reply:i dont really like any of them...what about these???

or these...i %26lt;3 these shoes!!!!!

Reply:well i thank the 3 one out of the 3 chooses. But that's me and i really don't where those type of shoes.
Reply:none
Reply:The first ones- they are the most timeless. Patent is going to be one of those trends that are in and out in six weeks. Patent shoes will look dated by January.
Reply:none of them look that great to me, to tell you the truth. however, out of them all, i like the patent skimmer best.
Reply:i think the second and third one are ugly. The first one is ok. I dont really like the round pointed part at the end. the second ones are way to pointy, the third look kinda cheap and rubbery plus i dont like how there is a random strap and that the whole thing isnt closed. thats my opinion.

these are pretty: http://store.delias.com/item.do?category...

Reply:the are all nice. but my favs are the first ones. the texture of the shoe looks amazing but i dont think you should get black. maybe the gray ones which is better because they go with every color withoiut being so drab and dark like black
