The best running shoes?

im gonna run a mile a day, 5 times a week from now or starting when i get shoes, until may..from may, i dont know how, but im gonna start training for the november marathon.

my question is, what type of shoes should i get...should i just get shoes to last me may (and i'll only wear them for running ofcourse) the buy new ones for marathon prep, or should i just get REALLLLLY good ones NOW and keep them till november.

also, for someone who runs a mile a day..how do i most safely yet effectively practice for the marathon?

as you see im a bit clueless-so, the more details, the better ;)

thanks.

The best running shoes?
Go to a runner's shop and try a variety of shoe brands. Everyone's feet are different; width, arch height etc. and what works well for one may not for another. I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point - a mile per day won't put too much stress on your feet/ankles and probably many of the standard sports type will be fine. Congrats on starting a new program.
Reply:I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren't necssarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable.
Reply:just get adidas they are good for running
Reply:sneakers
Reply:NIKE presto. light, comfortable and cool.. design for running
Reply:NIKE. The best i've ever used pal.

U cud also use REEBOK..Which is quite gud too. Get a really gud one as u need to get used to a shoe to run wel. but se dat u don't wear it off. Jus take the training easy. Start out small mayb half a mile a day and then slowly build up. U'l win the Marathon. Good luck!

Buy good runners now.. budget 80 bucks or so for a pair

you should replace them ever 500miles or so...

as for a marathon..

you need to be able to run 10K before you start an 18week training program..

grab one off the web such as

Reply:nike are ok, but asics are so much better. they just bounce you right off the ground and they are so unique. there are no shoes like them. nike are not bad either, but im jsut saying asics will work wonders.
Reply:go to a running shoe store and the people that work their are specialized in running so they will know what type of shoe is best for your foot. also you should get new running shoes every 300-500miles. if you are training for a marathon, i think you made need to run more than a mile a day. start with about 2 or 3 each day and a long run 5 miles first week(and increasing). i personally like brooks running shoes best but new balance and asics are some others i like. if you are running in hot weather you should probably get special running non-cotton socks because cotton ones may cause blisters. hope i helped!
Reply:Good for you! Jogging is great exercise and makes you feel great. My best advice to you would be to get the best running shoes that you can afford. Try SportsAuthority, or Dick's and see what you can get. Ask someone who works there to assist you. A lot of times they will have good deals going on. I personally like Nike's running shoes. I spent around $65 and have been using them almost one year and they are still in great shape. Also, make sure to stretch before and after each jog to ensure that you don't pull anything - and drink lots of water! Start off at your own pace - don't ever push it. That's when you get hurt. Take your time, and eventually you will be able to jog a mile with no sweat! Good luck for November! You Rock! :) Take Care!

Get a good shoe now. I like New Balance, you may like something else:

You must be comfortable.

I don't want to burst your bubble but running a mile a day will not prepare you for a full length 26.2 mile marathon. There are even super-marathons of distances like 100k.
