What's the deal here?

This is crazy but I wonder why that Buddy character in Fried Green Tomatoes didn't survive the train wreck. I know, it's because Fannie Flag says so but his foot did come out of the shoe at the last minute and he could have been thrown. Sorry for this dumb hypothetical question.

What's the deal here?
well it is a movie and not real life and the writer wanted it that way.............................????????...
Reply:Wow, I haven't seen that movie in a long time! We just went yesterday to the town it was filmed in. Now I want to see the movie again! I don't remember it much. We ate at he Whistle Stop Cafe! It is very beautiful there. I got pics of the railroad. The train goes by every 30mins!
Reply:oh i know i had to watch that like 10 times...his foot did come out, and it shows it to some extent.
Reply:sounds like my look at Friday the 13th movies

A girl gets thrown out a window front first.

unless she broke her neck on the window frame,

then i seriously doubt her two floor fall would have killed her.

maybe a broken hand or leg
Reply:Gravity and draft. The draft along witht he size of the train sucks Buddy into the train. With only one foot to push off with, Buddy does not have the strength to jump out of the way of an oncoming train tht's mass is sufficient to draw him into it. In other words he couldn't escape the draft of the train on only one foot.
Reply:Yeah I saw that movie, and I thought...if your foot is caught and the train is rapidly approaching, and you couldn't get your foot free, wouldn't you just lean your body off the tracks and let it take your leg and foot.. instead of killing you? I would choose to lose a leg before dying.
