Geez, I go to stores these days with a fear of seeing a flip flop display. These are not even shoe stores! A craft store chain even had some the last place I thought I would see something like this. When I am at WalMart I I have to avoid the shoe section altogether because they have them in the middle aisle right at your face so I cut through the clothing section if I need to to to electronics. At Old Navy I get real nervous as I pass the dispaly, I pass it very fast or I get on my cellphone as to pretend to ignore the whole situation. I even buy my shoes on the internet now for that fear. Don't you think they should just be kept in footwear and not by underwear?

Its because it's summer and they're trying to promote sales, it's a marketing ploy. Plus at craft stores people make their own flip flops by decorating them, they've been there for years... nothing new. Same with Old Navy and Wal-mart lol. You're going to see more as the weather gets warmer.

Reply:You know what's the worst? I work at Target and we have an entire aisle devoted to flip flops, and for the first two weeks we have them, the smell of rubber is so overpowering it makes you want to hurl.

Reply:Well, my guess is because they are cheap to make, cheap to sell and everyone buys them! Stores can make a nice little profit of these flip-flops and everyone is wearing them, especially college students. You cant go anywhere without seeing a girl in lounge pants that are too long and flip-flops. Even other mom-friends of mine all wear them! People like them because they are cheap, easy to put on, and lightweight. I am afraid you wont be able to get away from these flip-flops until the fad goes away! I wear them all summer long, but i like ones that are a little fancier. With two kids, they go with everything and i can slip them on and off when i am holding the little one in my arms! Try buying a really cute pair that you like, at first you might get a blister, if you have never worn them before, but then your toes will be so use to them, that putting on a regular pair of shoes will feel like prison to your feet! LOL So, go with the flow and try a pair, you might actually like wearing them!
Reply:U obviously dont live in Oz. Over here thats pretty much the only footwear that we wear in Summer, and even most of winter, along with uggies.
Ur considered strange or abnormal if u dont have at least 2 or 3 pairs.

Is Asics Gel Nimbus 8 Last year shoes or this year ..??
the nimbus 8 is last year's they are now on the nimbus 9
I do not have the specs so can not ell you what is diffrerent, but it is usually a little more than colour!
Many runners hate having their favorite shoe updated because the imporvements mean that the shoe no longer works for them nad they have to find something else.

Can I be charged an extra week's rent for using half a common closet?
My tenancy agreeent ended last weekend, but I have maybe six shirts two jackets and 3 pairs of shoes hanging in my flat's common closet - however my flatmate/landlord told me if I left anything behind, I'd be charged an extra week's rent.
I had to leave the country a week before I was set to move on short notice, so cleared my room completely, a week early and gave back the key. My girlfriend came last Saturday to clear out everything I kept in the common storage area, and just needed to grab these last few items in the closet. My flatmate/landlord was supposed to call her on Sunday yo arrange a time, but he didn't. I don't know what's happening now, but I'd hate to have my damage deposit deducted for such a miniscule use of space... espeically after going through great personal inconveienice to clear out out everything else - I may as well not have bothered!

I think they would have a hard time winning that argument in small claims court. maybe you can negotiate a much smaller payment just to let them save face. after all, you did not fully vacate when you were supposed to, so the landlord probably will feel like they need some kind of a win here.

What was your last guilty purchase?
Meaning, what did you last purchase that you really wanted, but couldn't really afford/didn't need/any other reason that made you feel guilty? Me? I just spent a lot of money on shoes. The guilt!

My boyfriend and I stopped at a Gap Outlet store on the way home from a trip to see the sales and we both bought too much. We just didn't need it and since we're in graduate school, we should've saved. Having said that, we got GREAT deals on jeans and other staple items.

What shoes for the winter?
so i'm pretty much done with wearing sneakers (nike dunks, chuck taylors) everyday like i used to (last year). i need winter shoes for school (senior in HS). and since winter is coming soon, i need some help... i have no idea what shoes are appropriate for the cold and that is fashionable.
i'll still probably wear flats a few times a month and uggs too (those are SO warm) but i still need something else to choose from.
i can wear uggs and flats only so many times and even then (when i wear flats) my feet will be freezing. i am considering booties but does anyone else have any ideas? what shoes do you wear in the winter?
