Why do my sneakers always tear? Are some brands more durable?

I don't know what it is, but my sneakers always tear. I used to think it was I was always playing ball, but now I rarely play ball, and work out in other ways that are less stress on the shoes (biking, weights, etc.)

Yet, I still always tear them. I think I go through a pair every three months. I have had this problem with several brands, most recently Rebock, though I think I've torn all of the major brands. Any advice?

I also have the same problem with my formal shoes. I wear them twice a week, and they still only last for a few months. In this one, though, I almost always get the same brand, Deer Stags (so cheap and comfortable.)

Is it the shoes, or is it me?

Unfortunately it might just be you.... my brother has the same problem. My mom has had to buy him so many shoes over the years. He goes through a pair in a couple of months. Usually he gets holes in the soles or the sole will start peeling away from the shoe. I've never had that problem. I have some shoes I've owned for at least 10 years.
Reply:Puma is a great brand, I have had the same pair for over a year.
Reply:Its depends did you go through Nike or aadias cheap shoes tear easier but High price = high restanice
Reply:well, sometimes it is just the quality. for example, although nike and new balance have simlar (expensive) prices, new balance has better quality. However, it might also be your feet, so i would reccomend you go to a podiatrist to check if it is the shoes or is it like your shape of your feet. Anyways, this is silly, but what did you do with the torn-up soes :) ? Alos, you may consider buying sneakers that do not have mesh in them, since mesh is WAY less durable than the artificial material they use for the insoles in non-mesh shoes. Hope you find the mesh advice useful, since i know so many dumb people that say mesh is better, but then ending up with ripped and holey-on-the-side sneakers
Reply:well.. me as a skater.. im really picky about my shoes and i've tried several.. i didn't like reebock or nike, or the more popular brands.. if there shoes just to wear to walk around and get dirty and stuff.. i recomend Emerica brand. they are skate shoes yes but iv had this pair for a very long time and they are still not tearing or breaking. They can become pricey though.
