Why do people obsess over clothing?

Out of obsessing over video games, cars, and computers I believe that obsessing over clothing is the most idiotic thing a human being could ever do. Clothing, if not taken care of correctly, does not even last that long and usually when that new trend comes out no one want to wear them anymore and goes on to the next new thing.





People at school are obsessed with bapes and ice creams. Last year it was shellheads. It's crazy because most of these kids complain about being poor and the white man keeping black people down when they are getting these high priced shoes.





Their favorite rapper wears them so they feel they have to. I just want to know why do people feel they need to wear these things just because of a name or all of their friends have a pair?

To be thought of as "cool" to follow the trend.


I obsess about them as I find this is what people first see of you and it is expressing you and you personality
Reply:although a lot of people just follow trends some people do it to make a good impression because when people see you walking down the street they don't see the person you are inside so your clothes is a way to show people what kind of person you are so just because someone wants to look nice and not walk out of the house in there pj's doset mean they are obsessing. although what i just said is all true and i back it up completly there are some people out there that are superficial but no one can change that
