Anyone got an alternative to heel grips?

Hi, i'm a uk size 5.5 in shoes and its a nightmare! I've been buying a size 6 and using heel shields/grips but they simply don't stick to the back of most of my shoes. (usually heels with soft material at the back) I was using Boots own brand for a while and they were absolutely perfect, but they've changed them and they are like the rest of them on the market and are proving to be a nightmare! I think they last all of about half an hour!





Is there any other way to make a size 6 fit? Or any suggestions on how to make the grips stick to the back of the shoe? I know i should get 5.5 but its a nightmare trying to find nice shoes that i like in that size!!
