Is tetanus included in a booster shot?

I recently stepped onto a nail (it went through my shoe), and I'm afraid of getting tetanus. I'm keeping it cleaned and I have polysporin on it with a band-aid. I got my booster shot last year (I'm 16 now) and I'm wondering if the tetanus is included in the booster shot? I really hope so, because I'm absolutely terrified of needles!!!

Is tetanus included in a booster shot?
If you got a real booster shot at 15 yrs. then yes that did include the tetanus vaccine which is good for 10 yrs. otherwise you haven't had tetanus protection since the booster shot you had when you were in pre-school yrs.~~~
Reply:Don't panic. You will be fine. And, just a little perspective on tetanus. Approximately 30 people a year in the U.S. actually get tetanus. That is 30 out of around 300 million people. It's very rare. And, only 53% or so of people are adequately vaccinated. Keep the wound clean and watch for infection.
